Verdant Works, Dundee's renowned jute museum, is calling out to local Dundonians who once worked in the jute industry in India as part of an exciting new project.
The museum is looking to gather memories and experiences from former workers to contribute to the redevelopment of its India Gallery.
The gallery, which aims to showcase the deep historical links between Dundee and the jute trade in India, is undergoing a significant transformation.
To capture the personal stories of those who lived and worked in India's jute mills, Verdant Works is seeking to engage with individuals who were directly involved in this important aspect of the city’s industrial history.
Kim Turford, project coordinator, encourages anyone who worked in India's jute mills to get in touch.
Those interested in contributing to this important heritage project are invited to contact Kim Turford at Verdant Works via email at kim.turford@dundeeheritage.co.uk.
The redevelopment of the India Gallery is part of Verdant Works' ongoing efforts to preserve and present Dundee’s rich industrial heritage, ensuring that the stories of the past continue to educate and inspire future generations.
