Two new exhibitions, both commemorating Dundee's heritage and the gardens of the world, are to open this week at the Verdant Works Museum.
Opening on 15 April and running until 8 September 2025, they will be part of standard admission to the museum and offer a richly diverse visual experience amidst the historic buildings of the old Victorian mill.
The International Garden Photographer of the Year Exhibition 18 (IGPOTY) is a stunning back to the atmospheric High Mill venue.
Featuring incredible photography from across the globe, this award-winning display marries natural beauty with the edgy ambiance of one of Dundee's most iconic industrial monuments.
From bursts of colour in close-up shots of blooms to sweeping vistas of gardens, the show is a sensory treat and a breath of peace in the midst of the city.
Alongside the international exhibition, Verdant Works also celebrates Dundee's Heritage and Nature, in a special collaboration with IGPOTY that exhibits winning images by local photographers.
This evocative collection of photographs expresses the complex dance of Dundee's industrial past and its environment - offering a contemplative exploration of how nature and heritage continue to shape the identity of the city.
Even though the exhibitions are on in spring and summer, note that the High Mill exhibition space will be closed on the below dates:
18 April
26 & 27 April
16 & 17 May
28 & 30 May
4 June
27 & 28 June
18 & 24 July
6 September (Full museum closed; reopens 11am, 7 September)
These two complementary exhibitions invite locals and visitors to discover the intersection of place, time, and natural beauty — all within one of Dundee's most cherished historic landmarks.
