These are the Dundee and Tayside athletes that are representing Team GB at the Olympics in Paris



It is one week to go until the world's biggest sporting event returns: the Olympic Games! It all kicks off in Paris in just seven days, and the excitement is building for what is set to be one of the most spectacular games in history.


Dundee and Tayside are once again being represented in Team GB, with four athletes from, or having associations to the city competing over the course of the two weeks.


Here are four of the athletes from Dundee and Tayside that will be representing Team GB at the games in Paris.


Eilish McColgan


Eilish McColgan will be competing in her fourth Olympic Games, she is the first Scottish track and field athlete to compete in four consecutive games for Team GB. Running in the Women's 10,000m, she will be hoping to make a defining mark on the field.


Laura Muir


Laura Muir will be hoping to secure another medal to her Olympic collection after winning silver in the Women's 800m. The Dundee Hawkhill Harrier will be competing in the Women's 1,500m event this time round.


Charlotte Watson


Charlotte Watson will be representing Team GB in her second Olympics, taking part in the Women's Field Hockey. She will be competing at the start of the games in matches against the United States, Argentina and France.


Mark Stewart


Mark Stewart is participating in his first Olympic Games as a reserve for the Team GB Men's Team Pursuit. Mark previously won gold for Scotland at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in the Men's Point Race.
