Dundee’s growing reputation as a destination port continues to flourish as the city is set to welcome a fresh wave of cruise ships for the 2025 season.
Running from July to September, this year’s schedule highlights Dundee’s increasing popularity among cruise operators - and signals the city’s rising prominence in the international cruise circuit.
The Dundee Cruises Facebook page has posted the latest arrivals timetable, revealing that seven cruise visits are currently confirmed for this season.
Ambassador Cruise Line, which has been operating in Dundee since 2023, will be the most frequent visitor with its ship Ambition docking six times between July and September.
The city will also welcome the Azamara Journey, operated by Azamara Cruises, on 25 July, arriving at 4am and departing at 11pm — a full day for passengers to explore everything Dundee has to offer.
Here’s the confirmed cruise schedule so far:
Ship | Arrival | Departure |
Ambition | 20 July, 10am | 20 July, 8pm |
Asamara Journey | 25 July, 4am | 25 July, 11pm |
Ambition | 31 July, 7am | 31 July, 5pm |
Ambition | 7 August, 1pm | 7 August, 11pm |

This busy cruise calendar reflects a wider trend: Dundee’s cruise industry has seen a significant surge in recent years.
With more ships docking and more visitors coming ashore, the economic benefits have become increasingly evident - from tourism spend to citywide promotion.
Looking further ahead, this rise in cruise activity also aligns with Dundee’s broader transformation plans, including the much-anticipated Eden Project Dundee, set to open by the 2030s.
With the city investing in its cultural, environmental, and tourism offerings, Dundee is steadily becoming a must-stop destination on the North Sea cruise route.
