The Overgate has announced the creation of a Garden of Gratitude, a new public space for reflection and thanks, timed with Armed Forces Day 2024.

The garden, developed in partnership with Bonnie Dundee and Uppertunity, will be completed for Remembrance Sunday this November.

Located in William Gardiner Square, behind the Overgate Centre, the Garden of Gratitude will provide a tranquil area for visitors to honour the sacrifices of Armed Forces personnel.

Bonnie Dundee will refresh the area with new plantings, while Uppertunity will install bird boxes to enhance the serene atmosphere.

The garden will feature a new sculpture symbolising gratitude, along with red-themed seating and planters decorated with public art by local artists. These elements reflect the enduring symbolism of the poppy.

Set to open on Remembrance Sunday, 10 November 2024, the Garden of Gratitude will serve as a lasting tribute to the bravery and dedication of Armed Forces personnel, offering a peaceful sanctuary for reflection and appreciation.
