Scaffolding erected on Malmaison as Dundee hotel gets an upgrade

The iconic Malmaison Dundee hotel is set to receive a significant upgrade as scaffolding was erected around the building earlier this week.

This marks the beginning of a comprehensive refurbishment project aimed at enhancing the guest experience and modernising the historic property.

The planned upgrades will focus primarily on the exterior of the building, ensuring that the hotel maintains its status as a premier destination for visitors to the city. The renovation will preserve the historic charm of the Malmaison while incorporating modern elements to enhance its overall aesthetic appeal.

Robin Presswood, the Executive Director and City Development officer at Dundee City Council, posted on Linkedin about the work being done on the Malmaison.

Located in the heart of Dundee, the Malmaison hotel is renowned for its distinctive character and luxurious accommodation. This project is part of the hotel’s ongoing commitment to providing exceptional service and comfort to its guests.

The exterior renovation will include a fresh facade, and improved access, all designed to offer a more welcoming and visually appealing entrance to the hotel.

The scaffolding on the site comes just one month after the Malmaison unveiled their revamped terrace, now known as "Verdant Terrace." This new space features a refreshed cocktail menu and has quickly become a favourite spot for both locals and visitors. The terrace renovation is a testament to the hotel’s dedication to continuously improving and innovating its offerings.
