Paris 2024: Mark Stewart steps in for injured teammate in a tough race for Team GB


An intense and gripping performance was witnessed at the Men's Madison final as Dundee's Mark Stewart and teammate Ollie Wood showcased exceptional skill and determination.


Despite facing challenges, both athletes displayed remarkable teamwork and dedication, earning praise for their efforts.


Mark Stewart, initially a reserve, demonstrated his versatility and talent by stepping in for Ethan Hayter, who had to withdraw from the competition due to injury.


Stewart's seamless transition into the event on short notice highlighted his professionalism and commitment to the sport.


Furthermore, the duo encountered a setback during the race when Ollie Wood experienced a crash. However, their resilience and unwavering spirit prevailed, allowing them to continue and finish the race admirably.


Although the outcome did not place them at the very top, the teamwork and synergy between Mark Stewart and Ollie Wood were evident throughout the competition, culminating in a commendable tenth-place finish.
