Paris 2024: Laura Muir runs a personal best in the Women's 1,500m - but misses out on medal

In a thrilling display of athleticism, Laura Muir achieved her fastest 1,500m time ever, clocking in at an impressive 3:53.37 in the Women's 1,500m event at the Paris games.

This remarkable performance landed her in fifth place, showcasing her incredible speed and determination on the track.

Despite narrowly missing out on a medal this time, Muir's gutsy effort as the Dundee Hawk has not gone unnoticed. Her unwavering spirit and dedication to her craft are truly commendable.

“You know what, I'm just really happy with it, I ran exactly how I wanted to and the fastest I ever have, so I can't ask any more. They went off so fast at the start and I just knew if I did that I'd be out the back door. So I had to run my own race. I picked off so many people but the race was just 10 metres too short."

Teammate Georgia Bell also shone brightly, securing a brilliant bronze in the same event. A big congratulations to both athletes for their outstanding achievements.

Muir had previously won a silver medal in the 1,500m race during the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, further solidifying her status as a top contender in the world of athletics.
