New details of Dundee Christmas Village revealed as the event is to be hosted up to 2026

NL Productions, one of Scotland’s premier event production companies, has been awarded a prestigious contract to organise Dundee's Christmas Village for the next three years.

The festive attraction is set to bring seasonal joy to the heart of the city, with the event scheduled to run annually from 2024 until 2026.

Following a competitive tender process earlier this year, Dundee City Council selected NL Productions to manage the popular Christmas Village, which will be a cornerstone of the city's festive celebrations.

The council had been seeking an experienced event management partner to ensure the attraction reflects Dundee’s vibrant cultural scene while providing an exceptional visitor experience.

Building on their extensive background in delivering high-quality events, NL Productions is committed to creating a Christmas Village that showcases the city’s unique heritage.

The event promises a blend of traditional festive attractions and contemporary entertainment, designed to delight both locals and visitors alike.

Jonathan Brown, Event Producer at NL Productions, expressed his excitement:

"We are thrilled to have been awarded this contract and have many exciting ideas to bring to Dundee. Our goal is to create an event that the city can be proud of, offering both quality and value for money."

The centrepiece of the Christmas Village will be a real ice rink, measuring 10m by 20m, where visitors can enjoy skating under festive lights.

A Christmas Market featuring local traders and caterers will offer a wide range of gifts and seasonal delights, supporting local businesses.

Families can also look forward to a funfair with thrilling rides, alongside a magical Santa Experience for children.

The entire village will be illuminated with dazzling lights, setting the scene for a series of special events throughout the festive period.

Dundee City Council's convener of Fair Work, Economic Growth and Infrastructure, Councillor Steven Rome, hailed the Christmas Village as a key addition to the city's festive calendar.

“While the Dundee Hooley has established itself as a highlight of the season, the Christmas Village will enhance the overall experience and encourage families, visitors, and shoppers to spend time in the city centre. We are excited to be working with NL Productions on this venture.”

The Christmas Village is expected to draw thousands of visitors each year, providing a substantial boost to Dundee’s economy.

By building relationships with local businesses and community groups, NL Productions aims to create an inclusive event that truly reflects the spirit of Dundee.

Sustainability is also a priority, with the event being planned in line with Dundee’s environmental goals.

This year’s Christmas Village will cap off an exceptionally busy year for

NL Productions, who are also involved in several high-profile events across Scotland. Among them is the renowned Castle of Light at Edinburgh Castle, a project delivered in partnership with Historic Environment Scotland. In addition, NL Productions will return to the Scottish Borders to produce Monteviot Lights, a spectacular winter light trail at Monteviot House & Gardens.
