Mills Observatory sees 127% increase in visitor numbers as it is recommended to remain open

Mills Observatory has experienced an impressive 127% increase in visitor numbers this season so far, reinforcing its status as one of Dundee’s beloved cultural landmarks.

This surge in attendance follows Leisure and Culture Dundee (LACD) securing additional funding to keep the observatory operational, ensuring its future sustainability.

The notable rise in visitors has been significantly due to the rise in publicity through marketing campaigns on social media, including the strategic partnership between Dundee Culture and Mills Observatory.

This collaboration has aimed to boost the observatory’s marketing initiatives, with Dundee Culture’s focused campaign reaching thousands of potential visitors.

Through engaging social media content and highlighting the observatory’s unique features, the campaign has played a pivotal role in successfully attracting new interest to the historic site located in the heart of Balgay Hill.

As the observatory continues to flourish, plans are in motion to further enhance its educational programs and broaden its outreach throughout the city and beyond.
