LIVEHOUSE Dundee, the city's new live music and events venue, is gearing up for its highly anticipated opening—and it will be offering something different.

Overseen by veteran Dundee venue owner Gus Robb, LIVEHOUSE will not only have an enormous capacity of up to 4,000 in its final phases but will also include cutting-edge features such as robot bars, artist lounges, and flexible event areas.

Located on Nethergate in the former Mecca Bingo Hall, the site will become a hotspot for music lovers across Scotland.

Located in the city centre with a short walk to the train station, Robb would like LIVEHOUSE to compete with venues in Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Aberdeen rather than a local venue.

In an interview with Rebecca Baird at The Courier, Gus said: “This is what I’ve always done - it’s in my blood. At this stage in my career, this is the biggest thing I’ve ever done.”

Gus is well known for his time managing Dundee institutions like Fat Sam’s and the Westport Bar, and he hopes to establish LIVEHOUSE as the city’s answer to legendary Scottish venues like King Tut’s and the Barrowland Ballroom.

LIVEHOUSE will open with the Dundee Dance Event Closing Party on May 4, kicking off a new era for live music in the city.
