Development on Dundee's former Green's Playhouse site into the long-awaited LIVEHOUSE Dundee has taken a physical step forward with the erection of new signage on historic 1930s tower.

Images at the venue show workmen putting up the LIVEHOUSE sign on the tower, which has been a city landmark since 1936.

The tower originally formed part of the Green's Playhouse cinema but is the only surviving feature of the grand entertainment complex after it was fire-damaged and rebuilt as a bingo complex.

Over the years, the venue has undergone numerous alterations, yet its conservation remains physically linked to Dundee's lively entertainment past.

At last, with the new exterior signage installed, anticipation builds for the launch of LIVEHOUSE Dundee, which will bring a new era of live performances and cultural events to Dundee.

Further information about the opening date and programming for the venue will be announced in due course.
