A former car showroom in Dundee may be transformed into a massive world buffet restaurant.
A new planning application has been lodged for the former Arnold Clark building on East Dock Street that shut its doors in December 2023.
If it receives the green light, the premises would be converted into a restaurant capable of catering to up to 386 diners.
The proposal comes from Hot World Cuisine, the company behind what it claims is Scotland's largest world buffet in Glasgow. The Dundee restaurant could create up to 50 new jobs.
The Glasgow branch of Hot World Cuisine serves more than 300 dishes, including Indian, Chinese, Italian, and grilled foods. The Dundee restaurant would follow a similar model but would be non-licensed.
As per the Courier, no pricing has been confirmed but the Glasgow restaurant - which costs £21.99 for adults on off-peak days and £23.99 on peak days, with kids of a certain height eating for half price.
The firm said it would "breathe new life" into the currently vacant site and provide an economic boost to the wider area.
It had previously been proposed the showroom be demolished, but the latest application is for the redevelopment of the existing building.
The application will be considered by Dundee City Council in the coming weeks.
