Dundee's Greenmarket has recently welcomed a new coffee vendor specialising in Blue Mountain coffee, a rare and sought-after variety known for its exceptional quality.
Located just outside the Vision building, the vibrant blue trailer of this new vendor stands out, drawing attention from passersby.
I was delighted to meet Ollie Lambert, who runs the vendor with his mother, as well as Lauchie Macdonald, the vendor's barista.
Ollie and his mother's journey began in Aberfeldy, and it took them to Kingston in Jamaica, where they fell in love with Blue Mountain coffee.
They now bring that passion to Dundee, eager to share their love with the local community.
Their commitment to sustainability is evident in their choice of coffee beans, which are sourced directly from Jamaica’s Blue Mountain range.
The beans are supplied directly from the Blue Mountains, ensuring high-quality and equitable production practices. This collaboration not only enriches the local coffee scene but also supports sustainable practices in coffee production.
Choosing Dundee 'a no brainer'
During our discussion, Ollie mentioned that while they had considered other locations, including Fife, they ultimately chose Dundee due to his strong ties to the city.
I’ve been living, studying, and working in Dundee for years and I love this city so much, it’s my home. So when Mum asked me where our first trailer should be it was a no-brainer.
Ollie also told me that they have plans to launch a lunch menu, and in time, expand Blue Palm Coffee throughout Scotland.
This new venture promises to be a vibrant addition to Dundee's Greenmarket, offering residents and visitors a taste of one of the world's most esteemed coffees.
