Dundonian running champion Eilish McColgan has teamed up with ASICS to design a special edition of the GEL-NIMBUS™ 27, combining personal symbolism, resilience, and heritage into a striking new running shoe.

Out now, this limited-edition trainer takes inspiration from McColgan’s journey, featuring elements of the purple tartan kilt she famously wore at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, where she claimed gold in the 10,000m.

The design also incorporates the Japanese proverb “Nana korobi, ya oki”—which translates to fall down seven times, rise up eight—a mantra that has guided McColgan throughout her career.

“I’m incredibly excited to see the shoe I’ve designed finally come to life!” McColgan said.

“Every minor detail has been meticulously thought through to bring my vision into a beautiful running shoe. From its colours to the Scottish themes, I feel this shoe truly represents who I am and what I stand for.”

The GEL-NIMBUS™ 27 is renowned for its plush cushioning and advanced support, making it a favourite among long-distance runners.

This special edition will be available exclusively in Europe via asics.com and select retailers.

You can purchase the limited edition trainers from the ASICS Official Store here

With a design that celebrates perseverance and national pride, this release is sure to be a must-have for running enthusiasts and McColgan’s supporters alike. Act fast - these trainers won’t be around for long!
