Dundee is set to have its hottest day of the year next week as temperatures to hit 21 degrees

Dundee is set to bask in its warmest day of the year so far, with temperatures expected to hit 21°C on Thursday, according to the latest forecast from the Met Office.

Following a stretch of gradually rising temperatures, the city is set for a mini heatwave later this week. After a cooler start, with highs of around 10–11°C over the weekend, Dundee will see the mercury climb day by day, peaking midweek.

Thursday 10 is currently forecast to reach a remarkable 21°C, making it the hottest day of 2025 in Dundee so far. Friday is expected to follow closely, with sunny skies and temperatures of around 19°C — giving Dundonians an extended spell of warm, sunny weather.

And with the city set to regularly hit 14°C and above, it’s officially “taps aff” weather — as locals know well, anything in the mid-teens and beyond is reason enough to embrace the sunshine and ditch the layers!

The boost in temperature is sure to be welcomed by locals and visitors alike, as the city heads into what looks set to be a golden few days of spring sunshine. Local parks, waterfront areas, and outdoor cafés are expected to be popular spots as people take full advantage of the sunny spell.
