Dundee has been named the best city in the UK for entry-level salaries, according to new research from Business Financing.

The study reveals that an impressive 42.67% of junior positions in Dundee offer salaries above the local median, making it an attractive destination for recent graduates and young professionals.

In stark contrast, London ranks as the city with the lowest percentage of high-paying entry-level jobs, with only 11.58% exceeding the local median salary.

This figure highlights the competitive nature of the capital’s job market, where entry-level salaries often struggle to keep pace with the high cost of living.

In Wales, Swansea boasts the highest proportion of well-paying entry-level roles at 36.67%, while Cardiff follows with just 25.00%.

Northern Ireland shows a similar trend, with Derry offering the best entry-level salaries at 29.03%, compared to Lisburn, which has the lowest at a mere 10.53%.

These findings reflect a growing trend among companies in Dundee to prioritise competitive pay for junior roles, potentially attracting more talent to the city and contributing to its economic growth.
