Dundee has been named as one of the world's most underrated cities

Dundee has been recognised as one of the top 30 underrated cities in the world, according to a list released by travel guide Love Exploring.

The Scottish city is one of only two UK destinations to make the cut, and the sole representative from Scotland. The list highlights Dundee as a “Scottish charmer” that has evolved into a “more than worthy city break destination.”

This recognition follows years of transformation for the city, marked by the opening of the stunning waterfront V&A Museum in 2018. The museum, which celebrates design and creativity, has helped cement Dundee’s place on the global stage.

Love Exploring praised the city’s “impressive waterfront redevelopment", stating that "its status as the UK’s first and only UNESCO City of Design, and its growing reputation for boutique hotels, an emerging food scene, and a scenic location on the Firth of Tay.

A visit to Dundee is not complete without exploring Broughty Ferry, a historic fishing town just east of the city centre, known for its charming beach walks, cosy pubs, and picturesque castle views."
