Dundee has been described as a “design capital” and a “growing tech-savvy destination” in a new video by Ruth Aisling.
The popular YouTuber, who boasts nearly 150,000 subscribers on the platform, visited the city and stated whilst Dundee had once lost itself, it has made a vibrant revival.
Ruth visited Verdant Works as well as Discovery Point and the RRS Discovery, where she discovered the history of Dundee’s jute and shipbuilding industries.
On her visit to the V&A Dundee, Ruth was more critical of the contents and space, exclaiming that she was expecting more given the size. One commenter agreed, stating that the museum was a “fur coat and nae knickers.”
Other places that Ruth visited included the McManus Galleries, the Maker, 71 Brewing, and the City Square.
Upon commenting on Dundee’s revival, she stated that her visit was “much better than expected” in response to a commenter who said that Dundee actually “looked like a cool place.”
Some of her subscribers stated that they’d never expected Dundee to be a place to visit, but her vlog changed their perspective of the city, stating that it was underrated.
