Dundee Culture’s April Fools joke was just featured on Radio Clyde after Callum Gallacher fell for it

Dundee Culture’s April Fools’ Day joke about a brand-new Dundee-based soap opera, The Tay’s Edge, has had some unexpected believers—including Radio Clyde DJ Callum Gallacher!

Gallacher admitted he thought the show was real, especially following the recent news of BBC Scotland axing River City.

It wasn’t until he read that The Tay’s Edge would be “exclusively streaming on Dundee Culture’s social media channels” that he realised something wasn’t quite right!

Laughing off the prank, he praised the joke, saying: “Bravo, Dundee Culture!”—and even admitted he’d have watched it if it were real!

“Callum, I apologise, and I applaud you! You have made my day. You can’t make this up! Brilliant!”

While The Tay’s Edge won’t be gracing screens anytime soon, its radio endorsement has made this one of Dundee Culture’s most successful April Fools’ pranks yet!.
