Dundee Culture has reached a major milestone today: reaching 50,000 followers on Facebook.
Founded just 11 years ago in 2013 when Andrew Batchelor was just 12 years of age, from its humble roots, the outlet has grown relentlessly into one of the most impactful voices for and about Dundee to a worldwide audience.
What started as just 500 followers back in September 2013 has developed into a tens-of-thousands-strong community in which Dundee Culture now averages 3.5 million monthly visits.
Hundreds, sometimes thousands, of new followers are picked up every month as the site continues to see rapid growth across recent months.
Reflecting on the achievement, Andrew said:
"It has taken a lot of blood, sweat and tears to get here, but I couldn't have done it without the incredible support of the people who follow and engage with Dundee Culture. They have all changed my life, and I'm so grateful for everyone who has placed their trust in what Dundee Culture does."
A bigger ambition follows in the wake, though: getting 100,000 followers on Facebook and extending across the digital presence of Dundee Culture, which Andrew acknowledges will “take quite some time”.
Andrew is resolute, confident that Dundee Culture will go onward and upward into the future and inspire more individuals to discover Dundee.
Following through with its success, Dundee Culture keeps the aim in sight of continuing to empower this city, bringing forth stories and events in their history to others.
