Dundee attractions have won big with the coveted Traveller Choice Awards

Dundee attractions have been recognized for their excellence by winning prestigious Tripadvisor Traveller Choice Awards in the latest ranking of top-rated attractions on the renowned website.

The awards recognise travellers’ favourite destinations and things to do, based on consistently great reviews over a 12 month period. The Travellers’ Choice award-winners are among the top 10% of listings worldwide.

Among the distinguished winners is Discovery Point and the RRS Discovery, along with their sister museum, Verdant Works. This recognition comes at a time of remarkable growth for the attraction, marked by the recent unveiling of the state-of-the-art Discovery Dome in 2022 and the celebration of the museum's 30th anniversary just last year.

The ongoing conservation efforts for the iconic RRS Discovery are a testament to the commitment to preserving its rich history and ensuring a memorable experience for future visitors.

The restoration works aim to revive the vessel to its former glory, offering an immersive journey into Dundee's maritime heritage.

Museum of Transport delighted at win

Another esteemed recipient of the award is the Dundee Museum of Transport, which is currently undergoing a transformative phase with plans for a new venue.

We’re delighted to once again be recognised with a Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice® Award 2024, for organisations that consistently deliver great service. We’re incredibly proud of our staff and volunteers who make our museum such a great place to visit.

The museum's fundraising initiatives are paving the way for an exciting chapter, as the new venue at the former Maryfield Tram Depot is set to open its doors to the public in 2026, promising an enhanced experience for enthusiasts and visitors alike.

V&A Dundee miss out on coveted award

The V&A Dundee has unfortunately missed out on the coveted award, with reviews on the museum not being favourable compared to other attractions in the city, something which has been acknowledged for quite some time.

But with the opening of Kimono and the brilliant Dundee Tapestry at the museum, the V&A Dundee is going through an exciting period of change in the months following on from its fifth anniversary and the amazing Dundee Tapestry which has brought thousands of visitors through the door.
