Dundee Contemporary Arts (DCA) has announced the return of its highly anticipated Made in DCA Print Studio Exhibition, showcasing framed works created by registered users of the DCA Print Studio.
The exhibition will take place in DCA's Centrespace gallery, opening tomorrow and running until 6 October. It will be open daily from 11:00 to 17:30, except on Monday 30 September and Tuesday 1 October when it will be closed.
Featuring artwork from over 40 local artists, all pieces on display have been created on-site at the DCA Print Studio. Visitors will have the opportunity to view and purchase a diverse selection of prints, with prices starting at £40.
The works explore a wide range of themes, including local landmarks, wildlife, abstract designs, and famous musicians. The exhibition also highlights a variety of printmaking techniques such as screen printing, etching, riso printing, monoprinting, lino cutting, and photography.
DCA’s Print Studio is an open-access facility, welcoming everyone from beginners and students to established artists. The studio is equipped with state-of-the-art tools for printmaking, photography, and digital design, offering a creative space for all skill levels.
As part of the exhibition, visitors will also have the chance to take a free guided tour of the Print Studio, where they can see where the artwork was produced and learn more about the creative process.
The first tour will take place at 15:00 on Saturday 28 September as part of Doors Open Days 2024, with a second tour scheduled for Wednesday 2 October at 17:00.
These tours offer an in-depth look at the various printmaking techniques used in the studio, with a member of the Print Studio team on hand to provide further insights and information about workshops and courses available to the public.
This exhibition provides an ideal opportunity for art lovers to add to their collections or find a unique gift, while also offering a behind-the-scenes look at Dundee's thriving printmaking community.
