Castore, Mooboo Bubble Tea and Cinnabon to open new outlets in the Overgate

Dundee's Overgate Shopping Centre is set to welcome three new retailers in the coming months, the Courier has reported.

The exciting additions to the shopping hub include sportswear brand Castore, Mooboo Bubble Tea, and popular baked goods shop Cinnabon.

Castore, known for its premium sportswear and collaborations with notable figures like Scottish tennis star Andy Murray, who is also a shareholder, will be one of the key new outlets. The brand has made a name for itself by manufacturing kits for major football clubs, including Rangers and Everton.

Mooboo Bubble Tea, another upcoming addition, is expected to draw in bubble tea enthusiasts with its wide array of flavors and customizable drink options. Meanwhile, Cinnabon will cater to those with a sweet tooth, offering its famous cinnamon rolls and other baked delights.

These new openings are part of a broader revitalisation effort at Overgate under its new ownership. Since the Frasers Group acquired the centre in March last year, several new shops have already opened, including Rituals, Pandora, Lovisa, Bee Inspired, and Sostrene Grene.

However, while these new retailers are preparing to open their doors, the much-anticipated Frasers department store's opening has been delayed.

Originally scheduled for completion by mid-September, the extensive redevelopment of the former Debenhams unit into a three-storey, 70,000 sq ft department store is now set to be finished by late spring 2025.

The delay means that Sports Direct and USC, currently operating in the Overgate, will remain in their existing locations until they can move into the new Frasers store next year. The department store will feature a ground-level beauty offering, as well as sections for Evans Cycles and GAME.

The Overgate's ongoing development and the introduction of these new retailers highlight the centre's continued appeal and its ability to attract high-profile brands, ensuring it remains a key destination for shoppers in Dundee and beyond.
