Dundee-born actor Brian Cox, famous for his role as Logan Roy in hit drama Succession, is set to return to his hometown to star in a new play.

He will play the ghost of Adam Smith's in Make It Happen, a satirical comedy about the Royal Bank of Scotland's role in the 2008 financial crash.

Written by award-winning playwright James Graham, the show opens in Dundee ahead of this summer's transfer to the Edinburgh International Festival.

The story centres around Cox's character in his haunting of key figures involved in the crisis, including ex-chancellor Alistair Darling and former prime minister Gordon Brown, as well as Fred Goodwin, then chief of RBS.

The title is taken from the old slogan of RBS which received a £45.5 billion government bailout back in 2008.

Co-produced with the Edinburgh International Festival and Dundee Rep, the show is one of the major highlights of the National Theatre of Scotland's 2025 programme.

Other highlights include a new play about the Lockerbie disaster featuring music by Dundee's Ricky Ross of Deacon Blue, and shows about Gaelic culture and the history of Scotland's mining towns.

Brian Cox brings his long-awaited return to the Dundee stage, a mix of humour and hard-hitting social commentary.
