Dundee Culture founder Andrew Batchelor will be leaving the Evening Telegraph after almost three years, it has been confirmed.
Andrew first joined the Tele in May 2022 to write a weekly column focusing on Dundee and it's cultural achievements and issues facing the city over the course of 2022 and into 2024.
Joining off the back of the conclusion of the widely popular Stay Safe Dundee campaign on Dundee Culture which led to almost 20,000 new followers to the social media platform, Andrew has written over 100 columns for his local paper - and their online platform.
The column has covered various topics such as highlighting Dundee's emergence as a global tech hub, advocating for increased awareness of issues facing the city, proposing new initiatives for Dundee to explore, and most recently, promoting Mills Observatory.
Speaking of his departure, Andrew said:
"I have had the most amazing two years writing a column for the Evening Telegraph and The Courier online. Writing over 100 columns has helped me learn and adapt as a writer and as a journalist, and I will be forever grateful to DC Thomson for giving me the opportunity to showcase and improve myself."
Andrew will continue his column through Dundee Culture's website
"I will continue to do my column which has proven very popular, on Dundee Culture's website from the new year. Next year will mark an exciting chapter in the city's history with it being ten years since Dundee was catapulted onto the world stage."
