Although it is only April, Dundee's Christmas planning has already started with councillors at Dundee City Council planning on a procurement for a new Christmas Village to be hosted in the city centre this year.
It comes after last year's festivities unfortunately garnered negative reviews, with many criticising the contents of what was on offer.
As part of this process, Dundee City Council is seeking approval from councillors to proceed with a tender process via Public Contracts Scotland.
They state that market research will shape the contract requirements and measure interest with any bidders for an event to undergo a selection process based on capability.
The tender will consider both quality and cost for any such Christmas event to go ahead.
The proposed tender is for an initial one-year period, extendable annually for up to two years pending budget and contractor performance.
Dundee City Council's Fair Work, Economic Growth, and Infrastructure Committee convenes on Monday 22 April.
