Whatever your interests-be it family-friendly fun, thought-provoking art, or something special for Valentine's - here are the top 15 highlights not to miss.


Dundee Science Festival


When: 10–23 February, from 10am

Where: Dundee Science Centre

Dundee Science Festival returns for its 15th year with a city-wide celebration of interactive exhibits, hands-on activities, and engaging talks in STEM subjects. This year's theme, Visions of the Future, invites visitors to explore cutting edge innovations and the possibilities of tomorrow. Events will take place at Dundee Science Centre and partner venues, with opportunities to take part in person and online.


Love Aboard the Discovery Tour


When: 14 February, 5.30–8.30pm

Where: RRS Discovery

Cost: £20 per person


Give Valentine's Day a historical twist aboard the world-renowned RRS Discovery. This evening special takes an intriguing look at the love lives of Captain Scott and Ernest Shackleton and their crew, showing poignantly romantic and dramatic stories of love during their perilous missions. Explore the ship out of hours and discover the human side of these famous explorers-perfect for couples, friends, and history lovers alike.


The McManus Galleries Exhibitions


Weather Eye

A new exhibition at McManus Galleries illustrating Scotland's ever-changing weather from more than 30 artists. From stormy skies to bright blue horizons, this exhibition considers how Scottish weather has influenced the art and language of many over the years. Open daily with extended hours at weekends.


Impressed: Twentieth-Century Artist Prints from Dundee's Collection


When: Throughout February

Where: McManus Galleries

Cost: Free


McManus Galleries also hosts Impressed, an exhibition of Dundee's outstanding collection of 20th-century fine art prints. The exhibition demonstrates Scotland's important role in the renaissance of artist printmaking, featuring works from some of the country's most renowned artists, including Lil Neilson, Frances Walker, and Peter Howson. Visitors can discover a variety of printmaking techniques and their importance within Scotland's artistic landscape.

Get ready for an action-packed month of ice hockey as the Dundee Stars take on top teams at Dundee Ice Arena. Whether you’re a die-hard hockey fan or a newcomer to the sport, the high-energy atmosphere makes for a thrilling night out. Matches this month include:

The Big Dundee Wedding Exhibition

Queer & Now


When: 6–11 February, 10am–4pm

Queer & Now: A Celebration of LGBT History Month presents a kaleidoscopic history from the 1980s through to today featuring the stories and experiences of Scotland's queer community. The event showcases, with a depth in sensitivity, queerness and the history of that culture in visual art, photography, and in words about Scotland.


The Yard Market


When: 22 February

Where: The Steeple Church

Cost: £2 for adults, free for under-16s


The Yard Market supports local makers and creatives, offering a bespoke and eclectic mix of artwork, jewellery, candles, sustainable products, and so much more. With over 40 independent exhibitors and a changing roster of vendors, no two trips will ever be the same.


Jekyll and Hyde: A One-Woman Show


When: 13 February, 7.30pm

Where: Dundee Rep Theatre

Cost: £18


A bold new take on Robert Louis Stevenson's classic horror tale, this dynamic one-woman adaptation sees award-winning performer Heather-Rose Andrews tackle themes of identity, power and transformation in Victorian London. Prepare for a pulsating performance which injects new energy into a timeless tale.


70 Years of Ford


When: Throughout February

Where: Dundee Museum of Transport

Cost: Included in museum admission


Car enthusiasts will be in for a treat at this one-off exhibition at Dundee Museum of Transport, which pays homage to 70 years of Ford's iconic vehicles. From the sleek 1967 Corsair to the legendary 1986 Sierra Cosworth, this is a collection not to be missed, highlighting the evolution of Ford's most memorable designs. Annual pass holders go free, plus guest pass on last day of month.


Soft Impressions


When: Throughout February

Where: Dundee Contemporary Arts (DCA)

Cost: Free, donations welcome


Soft Impressions is an engaging exhibition at DCA that reflects upon how printmaking has played a part within the development of ideas about race, identity, and activism. Containing both historical and contemporary works, this exhibition highlights how the use of print as a medium has been harnessed by artists for storytelling and resistance.


Planet Parade at Mills Observatory


When: Throughout February

Where: Mills Observatory

Cost: Free, donations welcome


Mills Observatory A rare opportunity to observe the beauty of a very special celestial occurrence-Planet Parade. With many planets aligning across the evening sky, some through the big telescopes within the observatory, such as Jupiter and Saturn, will be in view. There will also be staff around to help take you through all of the sightings and answer your questions about these miracles of the solar system.


DD Tours: Vaults Tour


When: Throughout February

Where: Various locations (see DD Tours website)

Cost: £13.50


Venture beneath the streets of Dundee on the unique, underground tour which unlocks the hidden history of the city. Wander forgotten tunnels and chambers, discover stories of Dundee's more sinister past and find secrets that lie buried deep beneath the modern cityscape.


Reframing the Muse


When: Throughout February

Where: University of Dundee Tower Building

Cost: Free


This exhibition challenges traditional representations of the female form in art, exploring how women have been depicted across history. Featuring works that range from classical to contemporary, Reframing the Muse sheds light on how female subjects have been both celebrated and constrained in visual culture. The exhibition is open weekdays, with recommended last entry before 5pm.


Jimmy Bullard Live: With Grado


When: 28 February, 7.15pm

Where: Whitehall Theatre

Cost: TBC


Ex-footballer turned TV personality Jimmy Bullard is joined by Scottish wrestling and comedy star Grado for an evening of comedy, stories, and audience participation. All money raised goes to Montrose Football Club's academy and helps finance the next batch of youngsters.


Dicebreaker: A Live D&D Adventure


When: 7 February, 7.30pm

Where: Dundee Rep Theatre

Cost: £18


Dicebreaker is an improvised Dungeons & Dragons-inspired show brought to life by a cast of comedians based in Dundee. With audience participation and twists aplenty, each show is a different, chaotic adventure of magic, mischief, and mayhem.
